Having a good healthy feet can help you be pain free and staying active. Keeping your feet healthy is not that hard. All it takes it good hygiene and proper fitting shoes. Well, there is more to that but this the basics on what you will work around. Other things would be to take good rest and soothing your feet once in a while after long hours of standing.

You don’t need a foot specialist at a podiatry to look after your foot unless only during worse cases. First thing you will have to do is to keep your feet dry and clean. Clean your feet every time you come home with soap and water. Dry your feet well too because fungus loves moisture especially between toes. An athlete’s foot is the most common problem for anyone. They attack the toes and cause your feet to itch and crack your skin. Keeping your feet dry and clean is the best way to prevent it.

When you’re cutting your nails make sure to cut them properly. You have cut them straight and across. Cutting your nails very close to your skin can cause wounds. It may even lead to painful ingrown nails. If you have bad nails don’t apply nail polish. You don’t want these germs get stuck in your feet or in between your toes. Same goes to sharing foot gear with your friends. Shoes and even socks sharing are almost like sharing infections and germs. Try to wear your own foot gear as much as possible instead of sharing. If you have very sweaty feet try to wear breathable foot wear. Wear shoes that allow air to circulate in and out of your shoes. Even socks try to wear socks made out of synthetic fiber which helps dry away moisture faster than most socks. While doing so make sure the shoes that you are wearing properly fit you.
